Matilde Maggio

Star of MARTINO’S SUMMER.

Matilde Maggio landed her first role at the age of 16 in DIARI, which won the Grand prix Ecrans Junior at the Cannes Film Festival, 2008. Since then she has acted alongside some of Italy’s finest actors and directors in RASPUTIN (2010), ANGEL OF EVIL (2010) and appears in AGES OF LOVE. She has the leading role in MARTINO’S SUMMER which was selected for the 2010 Rome Film Festival and Cannes Junior 2011. Soon we will see her in the thriller THE PARTY directed by Simone Scafidi.

Aureliano Amadei

Director of 20 CIGARETTES.

20 CIGARETTES is Amadei’s astounding debut feature film. It has garnered multiple awards at some of the world’s most prestigious festivals. Based on director Aureliano Amadei's own experiences, the film tells the gripping story of a 28 year old anti-war activist who travels to Iraq to cover the Italian military peace mission.

Venice Film Festival 2010: Winner of 7 awards including Controcampo Italiano Prize, Pasinetti Award for Best Film & the Young Cinema Award for Best Italian Film.


Nastri d’argento Awards 2011: Winner – Best Sound, Best Supporting Actress.

David Di Donatello 2011: Winner – Best Producers, Best Editor, Best Visual Effects, ‘Young David’ award.

Paolo Minuto

Cineclub Internazionale.

Mr Minuto graduated from Rome University ”La Sapienza” in Liberal Arts with specialization in ”Theatre and Cinema history, theory and critique”. He also holds a Diploma Honoris Causa in Dramatic Arts at “BK” Academy of Belgrade (Serbia).

Mr Minuto is the President of Cineclub Internazionale, an independent film distributor, and professor of Italian Cinema at the University for Foreigners Dante Alighieri of Reggio Calabria. Mr Minuto has been a member of Juries in several Festivals around the world.

Donato Buchicchio

Guest Chef, Ristorante Due Torre (Potenza).

Donato Buchicchio is closing his restaurant in Potenza (Basilicata) to visit Australia as a Guest of the Festival, to give patrons a taste of southern Italy at selected screenings of BASILICATA COAST TO COAST.

Donato Buchicchio will present antipasti with products imported from Italy for the following events:
